AAS Welcomes New Post-Docs

AAS is thrilled to have two new post-docs with us this fall: Carrie Geng and Ningning Huang.

Carrie joins us all the way from Somerville, MA. Last November, she earned her PhD from Harvard University. As gorgeous as it is on the East Coast, Carrie is happy to be here in the heart of the Midwest. She’s excited to get involved with our local farm-share programs, and explore our fall activities. When she’s not lost in a corn maze, you can catch her working on her exciting research into mental health. She also studies contemporary self-care and Asian American literature. Welcome, Carrie!

Ningning just earned her PhD in Asian American Literature and Film from UC San Diego. She is currently wrapping up her latest paper, “On the Temporal Intimacy between a Trans-Pacific Asian Laborer and his Animal Self: The Atavistic Turn of a Turtle without a Shell.” She’s traveled all over the world for her studies but is glad to be in a cozy suburban area like C-U where she can appreciate the local wildlife. The squirrels (and our department) are very excited to have her here!
