Many changes are coming to the Department of Asian American Studies for the 24-25 academic year, and one of the most exciting is the addition of new AAS courses for students to join.
Professor Keva X. Bui is offering two new courses for next semester: AAS 315: War, Memory, Cinema and AAS 390: Race, Science, Technology.
War, Memory, Cinema is offered on Mondays from 2:00-4:50 PM. Students will examine the memory of politics and war as produced through film. The class will explore what it means to live in a war society and a society perpetually at war. This course is cross-listed with GWS 315.
Race, Science, Technology is offered on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30-11:50 AM. Students will explore intersections of racism and scientific knowledge production in the United States. The class will study how race and racism have simultaneously been integral to scientific and technological progress. This course meets with AFRO 398, LLS 396, and GWS 395.
These courses are available now on Course Explorer. Make sure to reserve your spot before they fill up!
