Just under four years ago, a freshman named Julia Son signed up for AAS's Federal Work-Study program. She worked a few hours every week, helping with scanning, filing, and transcription, as well as general faculty needs. Over the next three years, Julia became a familiar sight to the faculty and staff in AAS, always arriving on time and doing her work with a smile. She always had a friendly word for visitors and faculty, and helped to make the department feel like a warm and friendly place.

It's always bittersweet to say goodbye. Julia graduated in December, and while we are all excited to see her move on and grow, her bright and friendly presence will be certainly missed by everyone in the department. We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to her for her years of work and for bringing us smiles.

Congratulations on your graduation, Julia, and best of luck to you in the future.
