Professor Kent Ono and Professor Emeritus Pallassana Balgopal shared their personal experiences as Asian Americans and discussed the impact of the Asian American community on campus and Urbana-Champaign community, in a radio documentary produced by the Urbana University Laboratory High School students.  "From East to West: Journeying through the Lives of Asian-Americans in Champaign-Urbana" aired on August 28, 2010, on WILL-AM radio. This documentary was based on sixteen interviews with people with connections to Urbana-Champaign and the University of Illinois.
